This sow lived in a house with a woman who loved her above all else. This lady was terminally ill with cancer and her family told her that if she could not find someone to take care of the sow, she would be euthanized. So this woman called us. We showed her all the space she would have her sow of hers and the lady died the very night we told her we could take her animal of hers.”

The refuge is called “le Gang d’Oupsie”, from the name of a very sick little goat, which Mélodie took care of for a year, until her death. “Priority is given to emergency cases or animals requiring very close care. Some animals have been abandoned, others left stranded once the house has been put up for sale, others scheduled for euthanasia like this sow, or cases of neglect or abuse, such as poultry“The melody continues.

By settling in Thiberville, the two young women wanted to take advantage of their large land. But also by aligning their actions with their ideas. “Farmyard animals are the most neglected. These animals have not asked what is happening to them. Most of them were born because they were born and were abandoned because they were no longer profitable. I have space and time to deal with itr” Mélodie confides to us that she worked for a time as a veterinary assistant and was, for a few months, a member of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.

The same state of mind for Léna, who seeks, through her action, to raise public awareness of the animal cause.

The idea is to raise awareness, so that farm animals are considered as much as cats or dogs. When you move, you take your cat or dog with you. We would like people to do the same with a goat, and not abandon it when they leave.
